Rules & Regulations

Welcome to the South East QLD Junior Table Tennis Circuit, where fun and flexibility are key! We believe in creating an enjoyable and inclusive environment for all players, regardless of their skill level. Here are our light-hearted rules and regulations that will keep the game exciting and accessible:
1. Rule Alterations: As we progress through different divisions, our rules and regulations may be subject to the organizer's discretion. This allows us to adapt and cater to the specific needs and skill levels of each division, ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants.
2. ITTF Rules for Ratings over 600: For players with a rating over 600, we will enforce the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rules. These rules provide a standardized framework for fair play and competition. You can find more information about these rules on our website - https://documents.ittf.sport/sites/default/files/public/2023-06/2023_ITTF_Statutes_clean_version.pdf
3. Flexibility for Under 600 Rated Players: We understand that players with a rating under 600 may still be developing their skills and may not be familiar with all the technicalities of the game. Therefore, we offer a more relaxed approach when it comes to service requirements and equipment legislation. We want to encourage these players to have fun and focus on improving their game without feeling overwhelmed by strict regulations, once these players progress up the ladder, they will begin to adapt to the official rule set .
4. Organized Umpires for Entry Level Tournaments: In most entry-level tournaments, we provide organized umpires to assist with group management and scoring. This ensures a smooth and fair competition for all participants. We want to create a supportive environment where players can focus on playing their best without worrying about the technicalities.
5. Chilled Atmosphere: Especially on the lower half of the ladder- Our aim is to get everyone rolling and having a great time! We want our players to feel relaxed and enjoy the game. So, while we maintain a level of fairness and sportsmanship, we also encourage a laid-back and friendly atmosphere where players can bond and create friendships and healthy rivalries. On the top end of the ladder - players are competing for state and even national selection so as the kids level up- so will the competitive dynamic and so will the prize pool (;
